Hi, I'm Kim
I’m a freelance science writer and graduate of the Science Communication program at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Like many science writers, I used to be a card-carrying, labcoat-wearing, grant-writing scientist. But after a few years in the lab, I realized I enjoyed reading, writing and talking about science more than I enjoyed doing the research. Now, I'm pretty sure I have the best job in the world.
When I’m not glued to my desk working on an amazing science story, I’m usually out enjoying the Santa Cruz Mountain redwoods with my husband, Adam, and our two big dogs, Angus and Woodrow.
